If you are just beginning in crocheting bags there is a super simple way to crochet a bag. All you need to do is to crochet a rectangle! This can then be folded and sewn together at the sides to create a bag. You can either add shorter handles or longer straps for a tote style bag.

You can get really creative and make a bag by sewing several crochet motifs together. These can be anything from squares, rectangles, triangles or even hexagons!

This is one of my newest crochet bags but I must say I have not stopped using it! It is a great large crochet bag I use for shopping and farmer’s market. I used a combination of filet crochet and linked crochet stitches.

This useful and functional crochet bag has a circle bottom worked flat. The body of the bag is then worked in the round without increases which forms the main bag.

2. Crochet Tote Bag

I love how practical and beautifully large this crochet bag is. You can use this crochet tote for a day at the beach or a picnic in the park packing all the essentials you will need! It is made out of crochet squares and sewn together.

3. Origami Crochet Bag

This is such an unusual way to make a crochet bag. I was inspired by the art of origami when I designed this practical crochet bag. It is made out of a simple crocheted rectangle.

However, for this technique to work you need a rectangle of a specific size. Let’s say the shorter side is 1 part long, the longer side of the rectangle must be 3 parts long. So, as an example you need to make a rectangle of 20 x 60 cm to be able to use this origami fold.
