Intro:

It’s bright, it’s colourful, it’s made with dreamy yarn…

The Winters are grey here in Canada-but not from where I’m sitting! A blanket so cheerful it’s bound to remind you of tropical getaways and warmer, sunnier days ahead.

Made with the coziest wool I could get my hands on… WeCrochet’s very own “Wool of the Andes” (*affiliate link) makes this blanket extra special. This blanket was original designed in a hand dyed merino DK weight yarn which has since been retired. I thought that it was time to find the exact same colours and remake this beauty in a classic, simple- yet stunning yarn. The new blanket is made with a traditional Peruvian Highland Wool with solid and heathered colours mixed together in total perfection (if I humbly do say so myself). I was awestruck by the combos while working with them and I do hope you love it as much as I have.

You won’t want to miss this one!

ps. If you want the printable PDF of the pattern you can grab one in my Etsy or Ravelry pattern shops below:

**please note: for anyone who was working on the original blanket pattern-do not panic! All the colour combos remain the EXACT SAME. The only change to the colour chart has been a replacement of the variagated colourway “Tropical Splendor” which are now solid colours: “conch” and “papaya heather”.

Pattern Notes

  • Gauge will affect yarn quantities, please adjust hook size to meet gauge.

  • Ch 2 counts as DC throughout.

  • Ch 3 counts as tr throughout.

  • Please pay special attention to yarn quantities: in some instances, the entire skein was used for the blanket with only a few grams to spare. Make sure to purchase enough of the same dye lot to finish blanket.

  • The Colour Legend is my attempt to provide you with colour accurate photos/generic colour names that you can use if you’d like to find an alternative yarn (the actual yarn name will be provided below in brackets). **please note that the colour “Conch” has been updated to “Paloma”

  • Blanket is constructed using CJAYG, where each motif is turned into a square while joining the next motif in the blanket. If you choose to join your blanket a different way-please note yarn quantities will differ (you’ll need more).

  • This pattern only differs from the original by using a slightly heavier yarn (worsted rather than DK weight). All colour combos remain the same as the original pattern.
