October is a time when there are lots of spooky and seasoned-themed items in stores that cannot be bought at any other time of the year, which is how the idea came about.

The most important part of making a Boo Basket is that it should be fun. It does not have to be expensive to make one, and you can easily make a fun Boo Basket for less than $20 and you look for items at stores such as Five Below, Kohl's, Bath & Body Works, Amazon, Walmart, or Target.
The first essential part of building a Boo Basket is something to put the items in. This is traditionally a basket, which will also be useable after October, but many people also use a simple tick-or-treat bucket (or pumpkin pail) which can be bought for less than a dollar. You can also look at storage crates in the stationary section of a store as a simple and cheap way to make a Boo Basket.

One essential part of any Boo Basket is the treats, which traditionally are usually some sort of candy. Fill a loved one’s Boo Basket with whatever their favorite snacks are such as chocolate, chips, hot chocolate mixture, seasonal coffee flavors, or even their favorite alcoholic beverage.

One fun Boo Basket idea is to place a themed mug in the basket, as this time of year there is lots of choice for a themed-mug are is usually an appreciated gift and lots of spooky or seasonal mugs can be bought for $5 or less.
You can also place a candle in your basket to make it even more festive and cozy, as this time of year there are so many themed candle scents for you to choose from.
Something cozy
Next, putting someone cozy as the biggest focal point of the basket is usually a good idea. This can be a simple themed cuddly toy such as a squishmallow or jellycat which have both lots of fun Halloween and fall-themed toys. If the person you gifting the basket to does not like toys, then if they have a pet there are plenty of fun dog and cat-themed toys in supermarkets in October.
However, you could also opt for a themed blanket, pajamas, t-shirt, or even some fluffy socks depending on your budget.

Another Boo Basket suggestion is to put some kind of activity as a gift, such as a book, puzzle, or even a movie. Traditionally, October is a time of horror movies so you could a DVD in, but there are so many Halloween-themed movies that are not scary, such as Nightmare Before Christmas, Practical Magic, and Hocus Pocus.
Other fall-themed cozy movies set at this time of year are Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, When Harry Met Sally, Knives Out, or even Fantastic Mr Fox for a children’s movie.
Bath or shower gifts
This time of year there are plenty of themed bath bombs that can be bought in stores, as well as many pumpkin-flavored shower gels body scrubs, and bubble baths. There are even fall-scented body sprays that vary in price and can be bought no matter your budget.
A decoration or something for their home
Lastly, this time of year has plenty of both Halloween and fall decorations that do not need to be expensive. One of the cheaper options is fun window gels which the person you are gifting can put up to show everyone their love for fall. If making a Halloween Boo Basket, you will have plenty of choices but for a fall basket then you can also look for themed fairy lights, tablecloths, oven mitts or wreaths to get into the festive spirit.
