I FIRST TIU COMMERCIAL APPEAL MTMPHK TUESDAY APRIL 4 ZQOj Storm rakes Mississippi with heavy winds flooding and alerts there were scattered reports of power outages downed trees and damaged mobile homes and farm structures Flash flooding was also a problem in areas where heavier rains occurred Most of the violent weather Sunday and Monday occurred in central and north Mississippi By late Monday the threatening storms had moved across coastal areas or pushed eastward into Alabama Clearing skies were in the forecast for today along with dramatically cooler temperatures Readings at or below freezing were anticipated in central and northern counties early Wednesday Flooding was a major concern particularly in areas of the Delta and central Mississippi "Someone over here calculated that over the first three days of this month Saturday Sunday and the first half of Monday there have been something approaching 400 alerts and warnings said Clay Morgan of the National Weather Service office in Jackson Morgan said of major concern was the amount of rainfall that had fallen in some areas during the period got a two-day minimum of 10 inches in some places in the Delta and they could
