Hello, I have an EVGA 980 Ti that I got used a few months back. It was a little bent when I got it, but I didn't think much of it. When I benchmark it, it gets bad scores, and it crashes a lot while playing games like Fortnite at medium ish settings. Also, GPU-Z detects it as PCIe x2 3.0 instead of x16. I had an EVGA 960 before this, and it worked fine. Obviously, it performed worse than the 980 Ti, but it was in the top 90th percentile for 960s. I don't think it's my PC, but this is my build in case: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bBDf28. I tried mining some crypto as passive income and with T-Rex mining ETH, NiceHash mining BTG, and Salad doing whatever it does, the CPU and even my integrated GPU! did better than the 980 Ti. I can provide additional info, but I am wondering what to do next. Thanks in advance!

I do underclock it, as it seems more stable when I do so. Is this right?

How do I do that? I know how to get into the BIOS obviously, but what next?

I prefer msi ab but yeah underclock till it stable to do what you do with it. Overtime the cards wear out especially with mining.Mining will usually kill your card dead eventually.

maxwell/pascal (900 and 10 series) degrades even completely stock after 4-5 years.
underclocking should fix it.

Yeah I tried mining for 1 day xD. It didn't work well lmao. Thanks for the help and quick responses!
I will try doing these suggestions later today as I don't have time right now but will keep you all updated
Alright, I went into BIOS and I found these settings related to PCIe. I left PEG and PCH ASPM on Auto. I found a setting called 3dMark01 Enhancement, so I turned it on. It said it's supposed to increase the scores or something? I turned Re-size BAR support on as well, though I don't think it's supported by GPU's before the 30 series (correct me if I'm wrong.) Finally, I found a 'plugged-in' device list, and sure enough, the GPU showed up and said PCIe 3.0 x16 @1.0 x2. I'm kind of lost right now, I have no idea what to do going forwards. It would be great if you all had some suggestions .
