An easy stitch pattern, only one repeat row to memorize. Then add a delicate row of smaller shells to finish off the top.

I used Red Heart Unforgettable yarn for this fun project. It is a self striping yarn with beautiful colors in it. This is in the color Tidal, and I do like the other colors they have as well. It is hard to pick just one color.

One Skein Shell Cowl:

Skill Level:Intermediate

Size:11 ½ “ wide x 11” tall, laying flat

Supplies:
Yarn: Yarnspirations – Red Heart Unforgettable
Color – Tidal (1 skein) or 270 yards
Hook: 6.00 mm [US J / 10]
Yarn Needle for weaving in the ends

Yarn Information:
Red Heart Unforgettable
Content: 100% Acrylic
Ball Size: 100 g/3.5 oz, 247 meters/270 yards
Care: Machine wash and dry
Gauge: 4 – Worsted Weight
Machine Wash in Cool Water, Delicate SettingTumble Dry, Low Heat, Delicate Cycle

Gauge/Size:4 V-sts x 7 rows in pattern = 4 inches

Abbreviations: In US Terminology
beg – beginning
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
fsc – foundation single crochet
sc – single crochet
sk – skip
sl st – slip stitch
sp – space
st(s) – stitch(es)

Special Stitches:
Double Crochet Two Together: dc2tog – Watch video tutorial HERE.

[yo, insert hook in next st or sp, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull through 2 loops] 2 times, yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook. (1 dc2tog st completed).

V-Stitch: V-st – [dc2tog, ch 1, dc2tog], in same st or sp. (1 V-st completed).

Notes:

1. Written In US terminology.
2. Worked in joined rounds.
3. Stitch count at the end of each row indicated inside ( ).
4. Each V-st is worked in the Ch-1 sp of the previous row V-st.
5. Can begin Row 1 with 71 Fsc in place of Ch 72 & sc in each stitch across.

Instructions:

Ch 72

Round 1: 1 sc in 2^nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each st across. (71 sc).

Note: Form a circle after Round 1. Sl st to beg st, careful not to twist the sts.
