Easter bunny gnome pattern details

The idea behind the Easter gnomes:

This year we started a crochet gnome along in which we share new gnome patterns each month but with all the holidays lined up at the beginning of the year, we released quite a few festive gnome patterns for February and March.

But we know that some of us don’t celebrate each holiday therefore we decided to release the Easter gnome set earlier. And the regular April gnome on the 10th of April.

Why bunny gnome? Because what is easter without a bunny, right?

What yarn to use for my Easter bunny gnomes?

You can use whatever yarn you have in your stash. In our crochet Facebook group we have fellow crocheters who have made gnomes with almost every yarn weight that is available on the market. It is safe to say that it looks great with each yarn and brand.

I used Bernat Premium by Yarnspiration yarn in all of my previous crochet gnome patterns. I just love how soft it is but at the same time, it holds shape.

How to customize your Easter bunny gnomes and turn them into spring gnomes?

All you need to do is just leave the ears out and maybe add a few more flowers or just use different colors for your crochet mini flowers. Change the body’s color to green for example to represent a flower stem.

Or you can add some braids instead of the beard. Check out our previous crochet gnomes to see how to make braids. You can use the braids we made for the Leprechaun gnome or Valentine’s day gnomes.

Pattern notes:

  1. The pattern is written in US crochet terms.

  2. The pattern is worked in one piece. We start from the base and work it up to the hat.

  3. The pattern is worked in continuous rounds. Do not join your rounds.

  4. If you use a different weight of yarn, keep in mind that your gnome will turn out bigger or smaller.

  5. If you are crocheting loosely, use a smaller hook so your work will be tighter and the stuffing won’t be visible.

  6. When stuffing the body- stuff it well, so it will stay in shape, but don’t overdo it. You can still insert cardboard in the base to make it flat but it will stay still without it as well.
